Legal Experience

One thing you have to understand is that the laws of Louisiana are complex, and not every lawyer practices in every area of law out there. There’s a difference between drafting a contract and taking a case to trial or putting together a plea deal or opening a succession. Workers’ compensation lawyers have to know the difference between how to handle a case where someone is injured on the job versus how to handle a case where someone gets hurt by someone doing (or not doing) their job. What a person can recover is different, the court that hears the case is different and the burden of proof is different. My colleagues here at Mitchell & Associates know this.

Are you entitled to temporary total disability? Was your average weekly wage calculated properly? Are you getting your checks the way the law provides? A Mitchell & Associates workers’ compensation lawyer can find the answer and represent you in workers’ compensation court if you aren’t receiving all of the benefits you’re entitled to.

Sending us information about your potential case does not mean we will automatically represent you – you are telling us about your situation in order for us to evaluate whether we believe you have a case which we may choose to handle on your behalf. We will review your circumstances and let you know as soon as possible whether we can discuss your potential case with you further. The information you give us is confidential and can’t be shared with anyone outside of our office.
